From April 29th to May 2nd, the 16th 2024 "Yunnan Mingfu Cup" Dongchuan Debris Flow Motocross Race was held in Dabai Nigou, Dongchuan District, Kunming. It is understood that the theme of this competition is "fun to play Dongchuan, dream of endurance". A total of 226 drivers participated in the competition, of which New Zealand driver Rocky (Lcokie) came from afar to participate. The race is divided into six groups: import group, domestic group, tram group, ADV group, women group and veteran group. Drivers of each group need to circle the track to complete various rugged road and ramp challenges.
Yunnan Dongchuan is located in the Wumeng mountain area of Yunnan. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with high temperature and rainy weather, which is conducive to the formation of red soil. The iron in the soil is gradually deposited through oxidation, forming a unique red color. Dongchuan region is the most concentrated, typical and characteristic red soil on Yunnan red soil plateau.
In recent years, Dongchuan District has made use of natural debris flow tracks to continuously expand the scope of events, hold a series of annual events with the theme of debris flow cross-country, promote the normal operation of debris flow events, and promote the industrial transformation of Dongchuan and economic development by holding rich and colorful supporting activities such as Dongchuan Festival, Xiaojiang Watermelon Music Festival and red land cross-country running.
